PROGRAM 1:
10 DAYS / 09 NIGHTS MAASAI MARA/ L.NAIVASHA/L.NAKURU AND SAMBURU

Ultimately Mother Nature is in charge, but we have now added a new excursion where we actively monitor weather conditions up to the last minute and then travel to the place with the absolute best chance of seeing the lights and so far have been successful!

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Drive in from Nairobi in the morning through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with a stopover at view point, and marvel at one of the most magnificent view of the Great African Rift without satellite photos then proceed on to Narok town for lunch before continuing the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great Wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. On arrival, you will enjoy an evening game drive.

Day 2: Discover Maasai Mara Game Reserve
A full day is spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. This game will be in search for great predators and perhaps even cubs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive Cheetah and Leopard hiding amidst Acacia boughs. An early start at 6 am will give you an opportunity to view the African sunrise and of course take advantage of the soft light.

Day 3: Explore Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Another day will be spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.
During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people or an early hot air balloon.

NB: Photography is best early in the mornings and late in the evenings when the light is soft and the contrast of the landscape is great.

Day 4: Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha (Great Rift Valley)
After breakfast, we will depart to  Lake Naivsaha  where we will arrive in time for lunch at our accommodation. After lunch, we proceed for an evening game drive at Hellsgate National Park. Hell's Gate National Park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of the only two  Kenyan Parks where Climbing, Walking and Biking are allowed. Covered by ashes from the Longonot eruption which occurred 100 years ago, the Park is famous for its geothermal station, Lower Gorge and spectacular sceneries

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park
You will enjoy early morning boat ride where we combine a nature walk on the Crescent Island which is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to Zebras, Elands, Wildebeests, Gazelles, Vervet Monkeys, Hares, Genet Cats, Waterbucks and Giraffes.  And of course this is a paradise for ornithology. 
Depart after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National park which is in the Great Rift Valley. Lunch on arrival then proceed to enjoy an evening game drive with magnificent sunset shots.

Day 6: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park
Wake up early for a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise during the extensive pre- breakfast game drive. During the drive, you will try to search for Leopards which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park before you return to your lodge for breakfast and ultimately lunch followed by late afternoon proceed for another extensive game drive till sunset to enjoy your photo session.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Parks – Samburu Game Reserve
This morning we travel by road to Kenya’s wild and rugged northern frontier. Samburu Game Reserve is fiercely beautiful with its arid land being watered by the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, such as the Reticulated Giraffes, Grevy’s Zebras,  Somali Ostriches, Lesser Kudu, Vulturine Guinea fowl, Beisy Oryxes, Gerenuks, Palm nut Vultures and many other species. In the late afternoon when the light is soft and the temperatures have cooled we head for a game drive and return to the lodge after sunset.

Day 8: Full Day Samburu Game Reserve

This day, you will enjoy early morning and evening game drives. We will be looking for the rare species of animals and the also will pursue Elephants, Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and Acacia woodlands. The day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the reserve and relaxation in our lodge.

Day 9: Samburu Game Reserve

Another Morning and evening game drives in the Reserve in pursuit of Elephants, Lions, Leopards, and Cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and Acacia woodlands. We will also have an opportunity to visit one of the Samburu villages where we will take advantage of getting portrait shots and of the village too.

Day 10: Samburu Game Reserve – Nairobi
Enjoy a pre-breakfast game drive. Depart after breakfast for lunch at Trout hotel before you proceed to Nairobi to end your trip.

It would be of great advantage to carry with you lens filters for perfect photography in the middle of the day.

 

PROGRAM 2:
10 DAYS/ 09 NIGHTS AMBOSELI/ L.NAIVASHA/L.NAKURU AND MAASAI MARA

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Leave Nairobi in the morning by road through the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephants to begin your holiday. After lunch have an afternoon game drive. In addition to Elephants, Antelopes, Zebras, Wildebeests, Buffaloes and the elusive Leopard etc, The Park is framed by the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 2: Explore Amboseli National Park
Rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro on a lucky day and the sunrise before clouds build up over the summit. We set off for another stimulating game drive in search of a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeests to Giraffes to Yellow Baboons. Back to the lodge for lunch followed by an evening game drive. A visit to one of the Maasai villages will give us an opportunity to see how they live and also this offers us the best close up shots of the famous warrior tribe. The village visit is paid directly to the village elders.

Day 3: Explore Amboseli National Park
Enjoy morning and evening game drives in this spectacular Park. Massive herds of Elephants, Antelopes, Zebras, Wildebeests, Buffaloes and Giraffes. Predators stalk the herds of grazing animals, recreating the age-old drama of life and death under the African sun in a setting so lushly beautiful. We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha
Depart Amboseli for Lake Naivasha stopping for lunch at Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi before After  lunch, we proceed to Naivasha for an evening game drive at Hellsgate National Park. Day 6: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park
Wake up early for a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise during the extensive pre- breakfast game drive. During the drive, you will try to find Leopards which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and before you return to your accommodation for breakfast and lunch followed by another extensive game drive till sunset.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Maasai Mara. A pleasant drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley brings you to Narok Township a Maasai business centre. After a short stop at a gift shop where we get an advantage to stretch ourselves and use the washrooms we continue to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. This enormous Reserve which forms the northern part of the vast Serengeti plains is famously known for its spectacular great annual wildebeest migration and is home to the big Five -Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Cape buffalo and Leopard. An evening extensive game drive will be conducted after lunch.

Day 8: Discover Maasai Mara Game Reserve
A full day is spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. This game will be in search for great predators and perhaps even cubs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive Cheetah and Leopard hiding amidst Acacia boughs.

Day 9: Explore Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Another day will be spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.
During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people payable direct to the Maasai elder or an early hot air balloon at an extra cost for one hour with  Champagne breakfast. This will give you an aerial views and magnificent Panorama giving you the best opportunity to take the best photos.

Day 10: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi
Today you have an early morning game drive followed by a sumptuous breakfast then depart with picnic lunch by road to Nairobi arriving in afternoon to end you trip.
