5 Days Mount Kenya Climbing Sirimon Route

Day 1: Nairobi-Nanyuki.
Leave Nairobi for your 5 days trekking holiday accompanied by our mountain guide for lunch in Nanyuki. Spend the remaining part of the day acclimatizing due to sudden change of altitude. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Nanyuki.

Day 2: Nanyuki-Old Moses.
Transfer from Nanyuki hotel after breakfast to the Sirimon gate where the climbing starts. Walk through the rain forest for 9kms(5hrs walk) to the first mountain hut-Old Moses (3300m) for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Old Moses-Shiptons Camp.
After breakfast at Old Moses, continue climbing through Mackinders Valley to the second hut Shiptons Hut (4200m) for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Shiptons Hut-Point Lenana-Old Moses.
Early in the morning, we climb to point Lenana 4985m (17058ft).

On a very clear day, we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south, Mt. Elgon to the West and Indian Ocean to the East. We descend to Shiptons camp for main breakfast and soon after, descend to Old Moses for the night.

Day 5: Old Moses-Nairobi.
After breakfast, transfer from Old Moses to catch transport to Nairobi where the trek ends.
